RUNAWAY KANYE
Now I know Kanye West has been recognised as a established artist for a good while now. BUT, after the success of his film "Runaway", the Sweat team are hoping this is a breakthrough concept in the music world, for up and coming artists to follow suit.
Not only were we blown away by the ideology behind this, but the sheer imagination and thought process Kanye had gone through to create, by our account a true masterpiece.
We are massive fans of Kanye as it is, and he isn't known in the industry as one to conform (the Taylor Swift files) but "Runaway" has blown us away. His long awaited album is going to get more publicity then your average HMV advert and poster ever could achieve.
And let us tell you this, he not only acted and participated in this production...HE DIRECTED IT! which means all the creativity and abstract'ness was all his make shift. We for one love the idea of an extraterrestrial (in the form of a hot semi naked pheonix woman, with THE most fantastically formed breasts - sorry mum) landing in hot flames, with no idea of human morals - she obviously didnt get the memo that eve indulged on that apple - into the arms of Kanye, who just happened to be cruising through the forrest in a lamborghini..........as you do.
The shooting is almost dream like and very surreal. The simplicity of the set design (except for an MJ effigy being carried in parade followed by a cult) makes this film even more concept grasping. Kanye has definitely upped the anti with this piece and we are even more excited to hear his new stuff.
VJ! RUN THE VIDEO!!...........
KATY B
We know that its an impossibility that you general public lot haven't caught a whiff of Katy B's On a Mission, as its completely smashed its way into the charts and it's the only song most people are humming or singing to themselves as they walk down the street.
Katy B, or Katie Brien is a South London Brit School graduate and incredibly talented singer/songwriter with a wealth of experience at the tender age of 21. She's featured on quite a few tracks which will make those of you who are into Funky House go "Ooooooh that was herrrrrr", like Tell me by Dj NG also featuring Versatile.
Following suit after the RIDICULOUS success of On a Mission, Katy is once again set to have another club banger as she's teamed up with Magnetic man in Perfect Stranger.
Check Out the official video here.

PATCH WILLIAM
No, don't worry we're not doing a feature on a posh pirate, instead we're dishing out some education about a fantastic new london-based band.
Patch William is a four-piece started by brothers Will and Ed Adlard, and friends George Eddy and Ali Digby. Now we've been following them for a while now, and ever since their debut performance in the summer of 2007 (aaaaah 2007, The Sweat was but a twinkle in its parents eyes), and its very plain to see how far they have come since then.Their song "last bus" (below) was nominated for the Ivor Novello award for the best song lyrically and musically, and we must say its one of our favourite chillout songs of the last few years.....
We're just blown away by how much Patch stand out from everyone else these days, (and the answer to the thought you just had is YES!! We DO think we have the right to refer to them as "Patch!" We feel we've become closer through listening to their stuff endlessly!). Their style just oozes a chilled out, almost Jeff Buckley'esque grace.........see wot we've done there? no? ok. Anyway, this is their lastest video "Skinny White Boy" which was released last Friday. Enjoy.

So WE are big fans of Maison Margiela and we just thought you should know about their soon to be released coin purses...for men.
Men...don't be afraid, they are gorgeous.

Soooo WE WENT TO MONIKER as promised (pictures above) and we fell in love with a new artist...STEVE POWERS...WELL...we just loved him, check out his "love letters" collection. It makes us "awww" so much. Completely obsessed.

"Whose Coat Is That Jacket You're Wearing?"
For the last 10 years Mike Ballard has been STEALING coats from London nightclubs and pubs...in fact he managed to swipe over 200 coats and jackets....some of you are probably thinking...O - i wonder if he took mine that time in 2005....probably not. BUT STILL he has made the contents of the pockets into art by assembling them as below and putting them on display at Walker's Tailor until Oct 23rd.
Now we are going to head down there just to be nosey, but some of you might wanna go down to look for your stuff...and weirdest part, you can ACTUALLY claim you things back if you get the coat and the contents correct. So our advice is get down there soon before everything has been claimed back and there is probably just the kitchen knife and fag end left...who keeps a fag end anyway? WEIRD
Love how fascinating the collections are..."what a person carries on their person, speaks volumes about them"...so true in this case. So romantic, love the engagement ring.

MONIKER International Art Fair
Morning Moniker....and Welcome to London.
Today Moniker opened its doors to art lovers and londoners....We have a special place in our heart for Moniker, because it's not in anyway snobby like other art fairs...Moniker highlights the work of a generation of artists often overlooked in British Mainstream fairs. We love how bold they are being - The dates coincode with Frieze Week - the largest and most established art fair in London...haha.
Moniker hopes to raise the profile of street art and their relative subcultures to new audiences. WE ARE SOLD>>>>can't wait to get down there tomorrow to check it out. JOIN US in Shoreditch.
Moniker will have Project Spaces with which other artists can create site-specific art installations, enabling visitors (YOU AND ME) to see the best in new underground art from around the world. OOO WE'RE ITCHING TO GET DOWN THERE...
Check out some images below...
PS ITS FREE...check out the website below

BLUEY ROBINSON
Already very well known to alot of you, Bluey Robinson is doing massive things at the moment. He's RIDICULOUSLY dope, and ever since his debut single "I Know" hit our ears last year, The Sweat has been keeping a well deserved beady eye on this diamond in the rough.
Hailing from South East London (Woolwich stand up lol), Bluey was influenced by all the usual greats such as The Jackson 5, Bob Marley, UB40 and The Drifters and has already worked with the likes of RYAN LESLIE (ta raaaas!), Labrinth, Attacca Pesante and Tru_Fix/Tix, and its been bangers such as "Showgirl" and the "I Know" Ryan leslie remix that really show off the range of his talent.
Now here at The Sweat we love it when people highlight just how boring and closed-minded the British public are, and in my opinion Bluey deserves a round of applause for putting up with the kind of stares he got from our everyday commuters when subjecting them to an impromptu performance. Don't worry pal, we appreciate you! Have a look.....
You can find Bluey on Twitter, Myspace and Facebook, and also check out his website below.
Clement Marfo and The Frontline
Soul Ska Rock RnB
Clement Marfo and The Frontline are all four...Marfo is the voice...the voice of an angel...its reminicent of jay-z (but english), and so fluid that we think it's able to blend the four genres together...it makes us purrrr.
Check out their new video...CHAMPION
It's available to buy on itunes now!!!
Clement Marfo and the Frontline are from South West London but their influences are from all over the world....Annie Lennox, Tina Turner, Phil Collins, Wyclef Jean....
Their love for different music styles...hip hop, rock, indie, soul....enable them to reach out to a wider audience...We think they've come at a perfect time. With the whole dubstep - hip hop scene still climbing.
Check out their other songs on Myspace. Marfo writes everything...and its good. Check this freestyle....INCRED
They are currently touring the UK....uh oh....run along...check them out...tour dates :)

SHEAN WILLIAMS
Right, now everyone loves a soulful voice, but as soulful voices go, Shean Williams is really dominating the up and coming scene with his. Already with masses of interest and a huge fan base, The Sweat predicts that Shean is a guaranteed one to watch.
Originally from Cambridge, Shean was raised in the church with a pastor for a father, and will be the first to attribute his talent to his gospel roots, where he used to tour the world as a youngster writing and singing with his brothers.
Make sure that if you look at anything whilst wasting your time on youtube (we all do it, so stop lying) then make sure you push up the hits on this guys vids...he's sick
His latest track "LDLA" (Love Don't Live here Anymore) is available on iTunes, and not to be funny, but the remix is an absolute BANGER. Check it out
DO THE RIGHT THING PEOPLE!!! BOOM!!!
Hawleywood's Barbershop
We love the fact that there is a man, covered in tattoos, dressed as a mobster, specialising in high and tight haircuts made popular in 1940's America. He is up and coming...and he is an artist...but we doubt any of you are going to fly the Atlantic to get a cut...which could be...a Flat Top, a Slick Back...
All of these styles are coming back in at the moment...we love them for men...and if we lived in Southern Cali we'd be at the Hawleywood Barbershop for all our cuts.
Check out the man who made it happen...he's so american, we love him...
Let's hope the style doesn't go out of fashion so he can stay in business....awkward.
MAN LIKE ME
Its about getting a girl pregnant...the lyrics are brilliant...
"London Town" is our favourite so far...
But this weekend...during the X factor break (obviously THE SWEAT watches X Factor) we spot the new IKEA advert with Man Like Me doing a cover of Jona Lewie's "You'll always find me in the Kitchen at parties" - We were so happy to see them again...their lyrics are their strongest asset...although we love their London cabbie/retro/cockney lucky lucky man style...
If you wanna see them as much as we do then you're in luck, Man Like Me will be playing at Punk Soho on November 11th. We've only heard good things about them live...so we can NOT WAIT to see for ourselves...JOIN US...be outrageous! Tour dates here.
Back to my place?
THE SWEAT has been getting quite bored of club nights in London, we feel there hasn't been anything new in a while that sounds fun...but alas...we've stumbled across something rather arousing!!!
A Bashment, Hip-hop and Garage night...all crammed into one night....in Earls Court...at My Place!!
Well ok its not at THE SWEAT residence...no no its at a club called My Place...imagine how many puns can me made about that...
Well even the night is called Back to my place...
WE LOVE THE IDEA...WE LOVE THE LOCATION AND WE LOVE THE MUSIC...
so come hang with THE SWEAT on November 5th and lets "whine down low" "whine up" "shovel it" and "pon de replay" together....
If you need practice check out this video...

BANKSY - THE SIMPSONS
On sunday the new US episode of the Simpsons aired with the intro created by BANKSY>>>>He (or she...could be?) loves a bit of controversy....and controversial it was.
The opening sequence shown below, shows Springfield covered in Banksy Graffiti...then moves to the Simpsons on the couch...and then cuts to a dirty Asian Warehouse, with awful looking workers slowly producing Simpsons merchandise! BRUTAL AND BRILLIANT
...according to Al Jean the executive producer of the show...they are not in trouble by Fox just yet...it was done to broadcast standards with just some bits being cut out.
And now just 2 days after the show aired...Banksy is evidently in London...busting out some new art...WE LOVE HIM (HER) and we love what he stands for...
In his new works he makes reference to Futurama's Bender, Keith Harring's Dog and The Clashs London Calling album cover.....take a look

Natalia Kills
Natalia: "I am Natalia Kills... and you better be ready for me"
The Sweat: "WE ARE!!!"
Natalia is a fresh, new, quicky, outrageously stylish thing to come out of Cherrytree Records. She is soon to release her debut album "Perfectionist". Her work is said to bring a "darker side to pop music". We agree...her music videos are so artfully done...and her look is right up The Sweat's street!
Her promo single...ZOMBIE
The best thing about Natalia Kills? She made a whole mini series entitled "Love Kills". The series has shown Natalia killing her boyfriend and being captured by "Far East Movement" in the desert. There will be a second series...and we can't wait to see it...START WATCHING SERIES 1 NOW...
UURGHHHHH - that was just an emotion of how much we dig her...we just missed her in the UK on tour with Kelis...check out this shot from Birmingham...
Shes touring with Robyn in November in the US...lets hope we can entice her back to UK ASAP!!
Heres a preview of MIRRORS in her new album...
LUII BADASS
Luii Badass is BADASS.....shes totally HOT.....body art mad....and an up and coming model(ish at 5'4")....shes in america but whatever THE SWEAT loves her.....
Check out her videos...mesmerising...
RP ENCORE
SO you are looking at the picture above thinking...what is that? well we can tell you..its is a grey squirrels jaw (lower mandible) dipped in gold/silver...Now im assuming you're like OMG>>>WHAT???
but we think...why not? Such a new idea that we would never have thought of.
Reid Peppard is the mastermind behind RP ENCORE...she creates jewellery and accessories from roadkill....her website is so artfully done you can't help but take a look...and then the idea of wearing roadkill suddenly becomes exciting...
Again a favourite of ours...the rings...made from red fox toe bone and red fox tooth...
Jewellery is jewellery...the only way to differentiate the cool from the crap is the exciting story behind it...whats more exciting than saying..."o ye well my necklace used to be alive" arrrghhhh. GRREEAT..

CHECK IT OUT
BeckerHarrison
"Burning Lady"
A little bit of Art for a Monday...We have a new obsession...recently we've been getting quite bored with just normal paintings...and we think a collaboration of different styles is the way forward. BeckerHarrison are two artists who have collaborated their photography and graffiti "to extend the realm of photographic realism and to address certain social and political topics".
They can take real life situations (the photography - Caroline Becker) and reinterpret them by adding their own observations (the graffiti - Simon Harrison).
"What a difference a day makes" is the subject of a new show at the Lazarides Gallery in Soho...We are going to check it out this week! The show is based on the May 2008 bombings in Jaipur, India.
Here are some of their photographs...
DAISY JEWELLERY
So Rings are great...but it is difficult to find the best. Especially with ASOS pumping out really cool ones that you don't want to buy because you know half the world will have it.
SO we love DAISY JEWELLERY for coming up with the STACKING RINGS...they are so beaut. You can completely create your own style. Heres one we made earlier...My Stack Ring...we'd love that as a present...if anybody feels like buying it for us...:)
But DAISY JEWELLERY have also just launched their new range...URBAN SPACERS... These little circular bits of gold/silver would look divine on any hand...and they have the added hint of cool by being named after streets in London...or even London attractions...
A personal favourite...Aldgate East
GUYS...IF YOUR HAND LOOKS BARE....you know how to fill it
